DON'T FIGHT THE SHIFT

by Dr. Myron K. Jamerson

Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? —Isaiah 43:19

Sometimes God changes what is familiar because He is preparing us for what is next. We pray for growth, but when growth requires change, we often become uncomfortable. We ask God to open new doors, but still want everything on the other side to look and feel like the room we just left.

Here is the truth: you cannot step into a new season while holding on to an old mindset.

Every shift is not an attack. Sometimes the change you are fighting is the very answer you have been praying for. God may change your surroundings, your relationships, your routine, or even the way you see yourself. It may feel uncertain, but uncertainty does not mean God is absent. He could be repositioning you for something greater.

Stop asking God to take you back to what was comfortable. Ask Him for the wisdom, courage, and discipline to move forward. You may not understand every detail right now, but you can trust the One directing your steps.

The shift is not here to destroy you. It is here to develop you.

TODAY'S SHIFT

Ask yourself: What am I holding on to that God may be asking me to release?

PRAYER

Father, help me recognize when You are doing something new in my life. Give me the courage to release what was, Trust You with what is, and walk confidently into what is next. Renew my mind, strengthen my faith, and keep me from fighting the very shift You are using to move me forward. In Jesus' name, amen.
